Thomas James Hickey was born at Ipswich, Queensland, on 29 November 1877, the youngest child of John Hickey of Limerick Junction and Ellen Condon — born five years before his mother died. In 1903 he married **Mary Kathleen Devereux** and four children followed between 1904 and 1920. He died at Ipswich on 4 July 1957, aged seventy-nine, and his wife the year after. With him this archive has all eight of his parents' surviving children documented.
