Catherine Hickey

Catherine Hickey was born at Ipswich, Queensland, on 14 February 1873, a daughter of John Hickey of Limerick Junction and Ellen Condon. In 1897 she married **Herbert Edward Jarvis**, and five children were born to them between 1898 and 1910. **He died in 1911**, the year after the youngest arrived, leaving her a widow at thirty-eight — and she lived another fifty-six years, dying at Ipswich on 2 April 1967 aged ninety-four. She outlived her husband by more than half a century and buried none of her children.
