Sarah Moore was born on 7 December 1878, the daughter of **Stephen Moore and Susan Dugan, both born in Ireland**, and married Louis Seelig at Manhattan on 21 February 1906. Their daughters were Florence Rose, born 1909, and Emma, born about 1916. The family was in Brooklyn from 1910 onward, and it was at Brooklyn that she died on 18 November 1935, aged 56, and was buried three days later at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Maspeth, Queens. She is a direct ancestor of Gina Cacace.

What we still don't know
- Her grave has **no headstone photograph**. The Find a Grave page is a volunteer's typescript; whether there is a stone at Mount Olivet at all is unknown, and whether Louis was buried beside her in 1947 is unknown too.
- Her birth record, about December 1878 in New York City, which would give her parents' full details and open the Moore line properly.
- [CANDIDATE REJECTED] The 1880 census has a Stephen Moore, 35, an Irish-born labourer in New York City, with a wife Susan and children George 10, **Sarah 8**, Erastus 5, Margaret 3 and Bertha 1. The parents' names and origins fit exactly — but that Sarah was born about 1872 and ours was born in December 1878, which would make her one year old in June 1880, not eight. It is a different family, or a different Sarah. Recorded so nobody attaches it on the names alone. The unusual name **Erastus** is the handle for testing it again.
