This is almost certainly the same person as the separately listed Catherine Veronica Hoffman: one Catherine, age 9, appears as George J. and Mary T. Hoffman’s daughter in 1920, and the death index has Catherine V. Leahey in 1976. Catherine grew up in a busy West 30th Street household, the only daughter among five sons shown on the 1920 index cards. The state death index corrects the impossible tree date to 30 April 1976 and points to Hoboken. Duplicate of the preceding Catherine Hoffman entry, not a second child: the 1920 household contains only one “Catherine | D | 9,” and the likely death record supplies middle initial V.

The first original record in this archive is the 1920 census index, which lists "Catherine | D | 9 | New Jersey" in the household of George J. and Mary T. Hoffman. The family lived at 132 West 30th Street in Bayonne.

Catherine was the only daughter among the five children named on the 1920 index cards: Joseph, Frank, Catherine, George, and James. The record supplies no information about her education or later occupation.

Our family tree says that she married John Leahey and had sons James D. and Kevin. No marriage or birth certificate found so far in this archive proves those relationships. A New Jersey death-index entry for "LEAHEY | CATHERINE | V" records a death on 30 April 1976 and locality code 0905, identified in the state locality table as Hoboken. The married surname, middle initial, and New Jersey setting suggest that this is the same woman, but the index does not name her parents or spouse, so the identification is not conclusive.
