Alice M. Stilwell was born in New Jersey about 1837, a daughter of Henry Stilwell and Cornelia Brokaw of Somerset County. She married twice. By 1876 she was already **the widow of a Wilson**, and on 23 November that year, at Manhattan, she married **William White, 42, born in Ireland**. She died a widow again, at 302 West 25th Street, on 19 January 1906, and was buried at New Brunswick — where her sister Leah had been buried seventeen years before, and where her mother would follow eighteen months later.
