What we still don't know
- A record confirming her birth and parentage
- Her marriage and death details
- [FROM THE REGISTER] Her marriage at Dingle chapel on 24 January 1891 to Thomas Garvey, a grocer of Ventry, names her father Maurice Fitzgerald, farmer, and gives her residence as Caheratrant — her father's townland. She signed with a mark; her husband signed his name. Not to be confused with the other Bridget Fitzgerald in this archive, daughter of Patrick Fitzgerald, who married a John Fitzgerald at Ferriter chapel two years earlier.
- [COULD NOT WRITE] Bridget Fitzgerald signed with a mark on her marriage register of 1891 at Dingle, entered with her mark, so she could not write her name. Of the twelve people in this archive whose registers have been read, some couples both signed, some both marked, and in three of them one partner signed while the other did not — it followed schooling and trade rather than family or sex.
