A family starting point
The Jones side
Start here for Gina’s mother’s family. The Joneses were settled at Great Neck on the north shore of Long Island from at least 1935, and Howard Graham Jones died at Sea Cliff a few miles along the same shore in 1996. One marriage opens the whole of the rest of this side: Howard Graham Jones junior married Ruth Mayer, and through her come the Mayers of Queens, the German Emrich and Schoendorf families who married at Far Rockaway in 1884, and the Selig family — Samuel Selig and Gussie Nathanson, who came separately from the Russian Empire in 1889 and 1893 and are buried in Brooklyn and Queens. This side is the only Jewish line in the archive, and it is here because of that one wedding.
This group begins with Sandra Lynn Jones, Gina’s mother, and follows her parents and grandparents outward. The Mayer, Emrich, Stillwell and Selig families all enter through Ruth Mayer’s marriage to Howard Graham Jones junior; the Cacace and Spatarella families belong to Gina’s father’s side and are shown separately.
