What was reported
Sbraccia was found on the floor of a second-story rear bedroom with a gunshot wound near his left ear. State police at Berlin said the evidence indicated suicide and that no farewell message was found. Coroner Arthur H. Holt arrived about 11 p.m. and relied on the police conclusion for the death certificate.
Holt said he had not seen a revolver and referred questions to police. Trooper John J. Meliff said it had been beneath Sbraccia’s body. The body went first to a Berlin undertaking establishment and later to former coroner Antonio Mecca’s establishment in Camden.
