Kevin Morris and the remains found in Galloway
Documented history · Sources compared
Remains recovered in Galloway in 2021 were identified in 2024 as Kevin Morris, reported missing from Staten Island a decade earlier.
Three dates in one investigation
Kevin Morris was 32 when he was reported missing in Staten Island in October 2011. Human remains were found near South Pomona Road in Galloway in June 2021. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office announced their identification in May 2024.
Those dates describe different events: disappearance, discovery, and identification. The release does not establish that Morris died when he disappeared or that the discovery site was the place of death.
Identity was only one answer
The prosecutor’s announcement said the circumstances of Morris’s death remained under investigation. It named the county Major Crimes Unit, Galloway police, State Police forensic personnel, and the regional medical examiner as collaborators, but did not disclose a cause of death, identification technique, or suspect. This entry therefore records a resolved identity and an unresolved account of what happened.
