Kane was found at his Southampton Township home in 1961, and Coroner Robert Smires classified his shotgun death as suicide.
What was reported
Clarence Shinn and Clifford E. Marshall, both of Spring Avenue in Ewansville, Pemberton Township, entered Kane’s home after Shinn found a box and note in his car. Trooper Thomas Nelson said the note described Kane’s intention to die. Kane lived alone. His sister lived on Main Street in Chatsworth and his brother on Locust Road in Pemberton Township.
