Paraphrased death notice
Relief workers arrived at Howard Freyberger’s Gloucester-area shack with food and fuel but received no answer; a friend entered and found that he had died from exposure.
Death
Freyberger was about 50 and lived alone in a small shack. Welfare workers carrying provisions and heating fuel knocked without response. A friend then forced entry and found Freyberger on the floor. The stove was out, and the building contained neither food nor fuel. The report attributed death to exposure and says the discovery occurred the previous day; it does not identify the friend, relief agency, exact address, or medical authority.
