Packard Single Six advertisement
Paraphrased advertisement note
A clipped automobile advertisement promoted the Packard Single Six with endurance-test figures and identified a Philadelphia-area dealer on Haddon Avenue.
Claims in the advertisement
The ad said an extended road test represented more than three years of ordinary motoring, defined as 25,000 miles. It claimed the Single Six averaged about 17 miles per gallon of gasoline and 2,000 miles per gallon of oil, while the front tires lasted 25,000 miles and the rear tires 17,000. The seller was the Packard Motor Car Company of Philadelphia, at 1129 Haddon Avenue; the municipality is cut off.
These are period marketing claims, not independently tested findings.
