Expose the joints.
Separate the sliding boundary.
Bored flange and shaft yokes surround separate cross journals, hollow bearing caps, unloaded seals and retaining clips. A toothless front slip stub meets a separate hollow sleeve, collar and thinner tube reference. Independent flange fixings now meet shared gearbox/axle hole maps.

Factory architecture and comparison dimensions
Factory PDF p. 145 lists CHA336 from GAN6-154101, front slip/fixed flange-yoke and sleeve-yoke roles, two GUJ101 journals and separate gearbox/axle-end fixing roles. Earlier AHA9053 remains distinct. P. 81 separately lists the gearbox output flange, washer and nut; fitted spline engagement and loaded retention remain unresolved.
Hindustan Hardy’s series1140 table gives a 23.8 mm cap diameter /61.3 mm overall cap span boundary comparison. The EABS component listing associates that size family with GUJ101, among other references. These do not establish a fitted kit, approved substitution, needle-bearing dimensions or press fit. No manufacturer torque/speed rating is applied to this model.
MGOC’s propshaft listing separates front gearbox and rear pinion-flange fasteners; front 3/8 inch and rear 5/16 inch comparisons remain distinct. Its rear 31.75 mm replacement bolt length is a catalogue comparison; front 30 mm displayed length is estimated. The CHA336 supplier photograph supports exterior/sliding architecture rather than this car’s exact tube, fitted part or geometry.
Declared construction changes
| Relationship | Change and limit |
|---|---|
| Flange maps | Old mating planes and 70 mm PCD remain source estimates. Both four-hole maps clock45 degrees to clear the new fork roots; front bores grow R4→R5.2 for the 3/8 inch comparison. Rear bores retain R4. These are construction maps, not factory drilling dimensions or fitted clocking. |
| Preserved neighboring sources | The pinion-support update adds an estimated R23 retaining-nut recess to the rear flange-yoke; eighteen other propshaft meshes remain identical. The axle carrier and shortened flange hub now change together, with six other axle meshes unchanged. The gearbox source remains unchanged in that update. The two old coarse transmission-joint meshes stay in its standalone comparison export but are omitted from the combined whole-car view, which uses this source. |
| Tube / sliding joint | Tube outer/inner radii change from39.793/29.633 mm to estimated22/20 mm. Its front end cuts back60 mm to expose a sleeve and toothless stub overlap. No measured shaft length, spline engagement, fitted wall gauge, balance or travel follows. A Volvo 1.75-inch tube application in the supplier’s broad list is not transferred to this car. |
| Cross / cap / retention | Two orthogonal yoke bore sets receive separate caps and cross trunnions. Cap interiors, seals, clip grooves/gaps, seating and all clearances are estimates. Needle rollers and grease passages are absent; the external boundary comparison does not size hidden internals. |
Existing owner cabin/underbody photographs remain context, without a calibrated shaft, joint or hidden spline survey. No new direct owner dimensions are applied. Both joints retain the old zero-angle cross-center stations; their static phase and alignment are drawing conventions, not verified operating geometry.
Limited source contact register
This sample compares the new parts with retained gearbox, axle, tunnel and underfloor-exhaust sources. Positive volumes are reconstruction discrepancies or overlapping reference divisions, not actual-car interference. It does not certify moving joint, suspension or removal clearance.
| Source comparison | Positive contact mm³ |
|---|---|
| No positive contact in this limited neighbor sample | — |
Separate parts for visibility to identify flange, fork, cap, clip and sleeve roles. Display offsets do not simulate pressing cups, disengaging splines or dropping a supported shaft. Fitted identities, phasing, alignment, balance, lubrication, seal/clip fit, bolt locking/torque, support points and the applicable complete replacement procedure remain unverified.
Native exports and checks
Checks cover valid solids/STEP round-trip, connected yokes and journal, shared gearbox/axle flange passages, orthogonal cap bores and cap/journal nonintersection. Viewer checks cover metric placement/picking, flange and cross-bore material witnesses, source ownership and declared inspection movement. These establish source consistency, not fitted bearing clearances or drivetrain function.
