Person in this family
Vincent Leahey
March 1912 (compiled) – 8 October 1918
Vincent Leahey died on 8 October 1918, aged about six, and was buried eight days later in Ann Galvin Leahey's plot at Holy Name Cemetery. He is certainly of this family — the plot and the family monument say so — but he was not Ann and Dennis's son: he was born about March 1912, five years after Dennis died and when Ann was in her sixties or seventies. He is much more likely a grandchild, the child of one of their sons, buried in the family ground.

What we still don't know
- [CORRECTED] Vincent was previously attached as a child of Dennis Leahey and Ann Galvin, and was counted among the candidates for their six unidentified children. That is chronologically impossible and the link has been removed: his compiled birth of March 1912 falls five years after Dennis's death in April 1907. Being buried in a plot shows family, not parentage. The likeliest reading is that he was a grandchild — a child of one of Dennis and Ann's married sons — and the way to settle it is his own birth or death record, which would name his parents. He is a Bayonne death of 1918, so New Jersey records apply rather than the New York City portal.
- [CONFLICT] Memorial 204048558 names Peter Vincent Leahey and Mary Schaeffer as parents, contradicting the archive's explicitly unproven Dennis-and-Ann assignment. Exact name, death and plot identify the same Vincent; preserve both readings and obtain an original record naming parents.
- [CONTEXT] He died on 8 October 1918, at the height of the influenza pandemic's second wave, which struck the New Jersey ports hard that autumn. A six-year-old dying in Bayonne that week is very likely a flu death, but the monument gives only a date and no cause. His death certificate would say.
