Overview

Chapterize is a macOS app for podcast post-production. It processes audio, transcripts, and artwork entirely on your Mac. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or transmit your data.

Data We Collect

None. Chapterize does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry. All processing happens locally on your device.

Network Access

Chapterize requests network access for one optional feature:

  • Story artwork fetching — When enabled, Chapterize may download images from URLs found in your transcript or show notes (e.g., article thumbnail images). These requests go directly from your Mac to the image host. No data is sent to us.

If you do not enable artwork fetching, Chapterize makes no network requests.

Local Storage

Chapterize stores your preferences (window settings, saved podcast profiles, recent episode history) using macOS standard UserDefaults and local JSON files within your app sandbox. These never leave your device.

Diagnostics

Chapterize includes an optional diagnostics export feature. When you choose to export a diagnostics bundle, it saves a ZIP file to a folder you choose on your Mac. It is never uploaded automatically. You control if and how you share it.

Third-Party Services

Chapterize does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

Chapterize does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
